UGL is currently looking for an experienced Civil Design Engineer to become a key member of the Power Utilities teams based in Sydney. You will be responsible for providing detailed designs, developing specifications and interface with management on design issues

About the Role

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the Civil Design Engineer will be responsible for but not limited to;
•    Provide Earthworks, Roads, storm water drainage, erosion & sedimentation control and underground services design to support substations, solar farms, transmission lines and other tenders and projects in utilities division.
•    Fulfil the role of Designer and Checker within the discipline sections
•    Plan and conduct professional engineering works
•    Attend site, supplier or customer premises to ascertain or confirm project requirements
•    Carry out detailed engineering calculations
•    Develop detailed designs in sketch and drawing format
•    Develop technical specification documents and reports
•    Liaise with third party geotechnical engineers or other specialist service providers
 
About You
•    A relevant four-year engineering degree acceptable for membership to Engineers Australia.
•    At least 5 years post-graduate experience relevant to the Civil design and underground services 
•    Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D (or 12-D) and Drains. Proficiency in AutoCAD is highly regarded. 
•    Strong oral & written English language communications skills
•    Computer and MS Office proficiency

About UGL Limited

UGL Regional Linx was established in 2021, after parent company, UGL Limited was selected to deliver operations and maintenance of rail infrastructure for the Country Regional Network (CRN). This network ensures the safe movement of people and goods throughout the regions of NSW, and links Sydney with many important regional centres.

• 2,386 route kilometres of operational passenger and freight rail lines, including 996 km of branch line track used predominantly for haulage of grain, with lower mass and speed limits than other parts of the network
• 3,139 route kilometres of non-operational lines
• 27,000 hectares of land and infrastructure
• 1,312 level crossings (300 active)
• 1,200 property assets (including 356 heritage sites)
• 600 rail under bridges and 384 road overbridges

The CRN is a crucial piece of infrastructure to regional NSW and UGL Regional Linx is committed to ensure that it delivers for all customers, from rail passengers to farmers and industry.
