The Project
UGL and CPB Contractors have been selected by Transgrid to deliver the ~140km western section of the HumeLink high voltage electricity transmission project.
We are looking for a Assembly & Erection Lineworkers to join our team onsite.
HumeLink is a new 500kV transmission project which will connect Wagga Wagga, Maragle and Bannaby in regional NSW that will significantly increase the capacity of the electricity network in Australia’s eastern states. HumeLink is one of Australia’s largest energy infrastructure projects, with about 365kms of proposed new transmission lines and a range of other new and upgraded infrastructure.
The HumeLink West scope of works, worth $1.4bn, includes delivery of new 500kV double circuit transmission lines spanning ~140kms from Wagga Wagga Substation to a new Substation at Gugaa, the Interface Point with HumeLink East near Gundagai and a new substation at Maragle in the Snowy Mountains for future connection to Snowy 2.0.
Assembly & Erection works:
- Layout steel into suitable location for assembly
- Sufficiently bolt and install members to meet specifications
- Inspection of steel and identify / report defects
- Conduct routine checks on all lifting equipment, including hooks &/or attachments
- Bolt management and tightening process understood
- Calculation of load masses, assessment of lifting points & slinging requirements
- Read and understand lift plans for works
About You
- Experience working on Transmission lines
- Trade Certificate (Certificate 3 Transmission Linesman) - Desirable
- Construction White Card
- Work at Heights
- Tower Rescue
- EWP
- Dogging and Rigging licence
- High risk work licence
- First Aid and CPR Trained (Desirable)

About UGL Limited
UGL Regional Linx was established in 2021, after parent company, UGL Limited was selected to deliver operations and maintenance of rail infrastructure for the Country Regional Network (CRN). This network ensures the safe movement of people and goods throughout the regions of NSW, and links Sydney with many important regional centres.
UGL Regional Linx commenced operations on January 30 2022 and works on behalf of the client, Transport for NSW (TfNSW) and will be responsible for managing an important network of assets. As part of its operation, UGL Regional Linx’s scope of work includes:
• Network operations
• Rail infrastructure maintenance and implementation of a new train control system - UGL’s proprietary system, Sigview.
• Asset and property management, and
• Safety, access, performance, and environmental management.

• 3,139 route kilometres of non-operational lines
• 27,000 hectares of land and infrastructure
• 1,312 level crossings (300 active)
• 1,200 property assets (including 356 heritage sites)
• 600 rail under bridges and 384 road overbridges

What you'll do
- The role involves layout and assembly of steel for transmission lines, bolting and installing members to specifications, and conducting inspections. Additionally, routine checks on lifting equipment and understanding lift plans are required.
