About this role

Overview

Plan and manage enterprise client technology projects within the UF Health environment, including hardware deployments, operating system upgrades, and new application or service implementations. This role also coordinates with UF Health departments and external vendors to facilitate complex technology projects that support clinical care, research, and education.


Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide cost-effective and sustainable client technology solutions that meet functional requirements

  • Ensure compliance with information security and privacy regulations within an academic healthcare environment

  • Ensure approved projects are completed on time, within budget, and meet defined objectives

  • Develop and implement processes using industry best practices for IT project management


Project Management Phases

Initiation

  • Stakeholder identification

  • Functional requirements gathering

  • Fiscal analysis

Planning

  • Define scope of work and deliverables

  • Resource allocation and scheduling

  • Risk analysis

  • Support requirements planning

Execution

  • Oversee deployment staff

  • Coordinate with other service teams

  • Manage change processes

Monitoring and Controlling

  • Track progress and provide reporting

  • Monitor achievement of key performance indicators (KPIs)

Closure

  • Testing and validation

  • Training and documentation

  • Transition to production support services


Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required with three (3) years of direct experience in client technology implementation, project management, and support

    • Appropriate college coursework or vocational/technical training may substitute for the required experience at an equivalent rate

  • CAPM (Certified associate in project management) or PMP (Project Management Professional) certification, or ability to obtain certification within six (6) months of hire

  • Proficiency in workgroup and project management tools and applications


Desired Skills and Experience

  • Extensive knowledge and experience with client technology hardware, operating systems, applications, and services supporting clinical care, research, and academic environments

  • Experience working within an enterprise-level IT environment

  • Broad understanding of IT disciplines and demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external vendors

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to accurately assess resource needs and scheduling requirements

  • Strong customer service skills, with the ability to manage expectations and expedite issue resolution


Driving Requirement

Employees in this position may operate vehicles for assigned business purposes and are classified as a non-frequent driver.

Note: A frequent driver is defined as an individual who:

  • Drives at least once daily, or

  • Makes five (5) or more individual trips per week, or

  • Drives an average of more than 150 miles per week while performing job duties
