General Description:

Complete various task in order to prepare and paint products.

Duties

  • Preparation of and masking/de-masking of product.
  • Etch and Alodine plating.
  • Operates a spray painter to apply industrial paint finishes on metal products.
  • Assist lead painter in cleaning and surface preparation for items to be painted.
  • Determines equipment and material requirements
  • Apply surface preparation.
  • Completes work orders for painting assignments, indicating materials used and time involved.
  • Clean manufacturing equipment with solvents
  • Other duties as assigned

Education/Experience Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Trade school diploma desired
  • 0-3 year experience in the field.
  • Ability to wear a respirator.
  • Capable of controlling the operations of equipment or systems used in the painting industry.
  • Monitoring of gauges, dials and/or other indicators to ensure proper equipment operations.
  • Capable of using mathematics to solve problems.
  • The ability to select the right tool for the job.
  • Capable of producing product from engineering drawing.
  • Basic knowledge of painting and painting process.
  • Ability to inspect work area for any potential safety hazards prior to beginning operations.
  • We maintain a drug-free workplace and perform post offer, pre-employment substance abuse testing

  • Must be able to walk and stand on level and/or inclined surfaces for certain periods throughout the day.
  • Must be able to climb stairs, ramps, ladders, and work stands, working at heights with fall protection devices.
  • Must be able to crouch, crawl, grasp or handle objects, use finger dexterity, bend elbow/knee and reach above/below shoulders.
  • May be required to lift up to 50 pounds and carry for short distances.
  • May be required to read dials/gauges, identify small objects and hand tools.
  • Must be able to have continuous forward, up, down, and sideways bending motion of head and neck
  • Must be able to communicate by voice and detect sound by ear.
  • Must be able to distinguish color, judge three-dimensional depth, close vision, distance vision, color peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • The employee must be able to wear a respirator.
