BRIEF JOB DESCRIPTION:

This position performs highly complex (senior-level) consultative services and technical assistance work related to the development and implementation of the ASN Program under the limited supervision of the Vaccine Operations Group Manager, with moderate latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. Additional responsibilities include serving as a liason to the Adult Immunization Coordinator positions located in the Regions. This position reviews and interprets federal and state policy and conducts research to determine policy options and impacts and develops policy recommendations. Work requires collaboration with staff internal and external stakeholders including, but not limited to, Central Office and the local and regional health departments.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Attends work on a regular and predictable schedule in accordance with agency leave policy and performs other duties as assigned.

 

(35%) Identifies needed areas of change, makes recommendations to improve operations, develops plans for implementation, and coordinates the implementation. Develops and distributes training material and provides training for ASN Program staff. Assists in the development of guidelines, policies and procedures, and regulations and implements them to ensure compliance with the federal grant and state requirements. Assists with the development of policies and procedures for the evaluation of the effectiveness of the ASN Program. 

 

(35%) Directs and implements site visit activities for the ASN Program. Develops site visit protocols and conducts training for site reviewers. Assists staff with developing action plans for regional and local health departments to improve their compliance with program policies and ensures follow-up on all compliance issues. Provides technical assistance to AIC's. 

 

(10%) Prepares and presents content to providers and regional and local health departments. Trains staff in ASN Program policies and activities.

 

(10%) Serves as the lead for Immunization Program Evaluation ensuring that all activities are completed in a timely manner and in accordance with the CDC policy. 

 

(10%) Other duties as assigned include but are not limited to actively participating and/or serving in a supporting role to meet the agency’s obligation for disaster response and/or recovery of Continuity of Operations (COOP) activation. Such participation may require an alternative shift pattern assignment and/or location.

Initial Screening Criteria:

 

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university required with major course work in public health, social services, policy, biology, or a related field. One year of full-time relevant experience may substitute for education on a year-for-year basis.
  • Two years of experience in public health, health promotion and education, health policy, and/or immunizations.
  • Experience in developing written materials.   
  • One year of experience researching, interpreting or analyzing data and policies.

This position is required to be in office for two months. After two months, this position may be eligible for telework based on performance.
