About this role

Activity Leader – Ad-hoc – Eastbourne
£13.00 per hour, Fixed-term contract - Hours: ad-hoc, including weekends and Bank Holidays.

As an Activity Leader, you will guide Activities as directed by the Operations Manager/Senior Activity Leader, planning and delivering a high-quality activity and excursion programme; ensuring integration of language learning with the social programme; and maintaining correct levels of student safety, discipline, and welfare.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervising and participating actively in all activities
  • Preparing activity venues prior to each activity
  • Ensure all registers are up to date, including risk assessments prior to each activity
  • Implement client feedback in line with company-approved policies and procedures
  • Managing and promoting positive student behaviour
  • Meeting students on arrival and departure
  • Supervising mealtimes, breaks and free time
  • Safeguarding and promoting the well-being of all students, including Health & Safety
  • Residential stays overnight when required
Qualifications, Skills and Core Competencies
  • Educated to GCSE / Leaving Cert level or similar.
  • First Aid certificate (such as St John's First Aid at Work or HSE-recognised) desirable.
  • Sports coaching qualifications are desirable but not essential
Knowledge and Experience
  • Experience in supervising and coaching minors
  • Aware of safeguarding and prevent responsibilities
  • Ability to speak a second language is desirable
  • Prior experience working in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment

Skills and Attributes
  • Flexible, creative, with the ability to work alone and as part of a team
  • Ability to assume responsibility for a group of juniors
  • Self-motivated and proactive

Safeguarding
  • Be able to display an awareness, understanding and commitment to the protection and safeguarding of young people and vulnerable adults. (E)
  • Understand and be able to demonstrate a commitment to Equal Opportunities and Diversity. (E)
