Summary: Complete Functional Safety assessments of challenging projects, the FS & CS Engineer will have responsibilities that will range from components up to complex systems including hardware and software assessments based upon client/project requirements (ex: IEC61508, ISO13849, etc.). Complete Cyber-Security assessments in reference to IEC 62443-4 for components and IEC 62443-(2-4/3-3) for systems. Support clients in Functional Safety and Cyber-Security topics (e.g. analysis of safety concepts, performance of workshops / trainings, assessments of projects, on-site project reviews and tests)
Responsibilities:
Ensure completion of independent project management responsibilities
Set and track time & cost limits, investigate testing requirements to additional applicable international standards, other as identified/needed
Create test reports, drafts certificates and document test results for performed assessments
Identify new approaches to new developments & technologies used in safety-related environments
Keep strict client confidentiality
Support sales and marketing activities to offer TUV Rheinland services to clients
Business Travel is maybe required within North America

Education and Training:
5 years of experience required
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering required; Master’s Degree preferred
Prior experience as a Hardware and/or Software Design Engineer preferred
Superior analytical and project management skills
Strong communications skill sets (written, verbal and active listening) and strong interpersonal skill sets supporting ability to work effectively with internal team members and clients/client teams
Experience / Qualifications:
