Job Description

Turner & Townsend are leaders in professional services to the Data Centre sector globally. Due to the continued success and expansion of our Data Centre business in Austria, we are currently recruiting for experienced Senior Project Manager (m/f/d) to join our Data Centre team Vienna. 

With a market leading client base and the opportunity to take the lead on strategic commissions and high-profile projects, this is an exciting time to join the business unit and grow a career with Turner & Townsend.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and lead complex projects and programs as the key client interface
  • Developing working relationships, problem solving and driving projects to successful completion
  • Managing the design process to achieve the client's requirements and manage expectations
  • Reviewing project plans and specifications, scheduling, costs saving measures, discrepancies, potential construction problems, etc.
  • Preparing and presenting formal project progress and other reports
  • Managing and coordinating a team, contractors and designers
  • Managing project safety and environmental requirements
  • Managing project timelines, risks and reporting
  • Managing project budgets and advising on options to keep budget on track
  • Being engaged with marketing and business development initiatives
  • Co-ordinating vendor scope with overall project delivery
  • Drafting contract documents in strict accordance with legal approved contract templates
  • Working closely with project team/s to ensure effective and timely document processing and management of contract documents

Qualifications

  • Degree in a Construction Management a related field
  • A minimum of 7-10 years project management experience, gained within a Data Centre or similar technical environment
  • Technical understanding of Data Centre Infrastructure – HVAC, Electrical, Generators, Fire, Security and BMS
  • Professional/tertiary qualification in project management, engineering or construction
  • Leadership experience
  • A thorough understanding of the total project life cycle, from project inception stage, design, authority approvals through to construction completion and post-project review
  • Excellent knowledge and experience of all of the main project management concepts, tools and techniques
  • Ability to thrive in a high pressure, fast paced environment
  • Excellent command of written and spoken German and English 
  • Highly motivated and driven with a passion for delivering to your client
  • Availability for on-site work

Additional Information

The minimum collective agreement salary (as per Austrian Collective Agreement) for this position €63,000 gross per year. However, we would like to explicitly point out that overpayment is planned in accordance with your expertise and professional experience.
