Job Description

We are recruiting a Principal Consultant – Water based in Adelaide With your knowledge and experience gained in the following areas, you will lead client projects and help grow our Water sector offering:

  • Asset management frameworks, approaches, tools and methodologies (CAMA or IAM qualifications are favoured, but not essential)
  • Industry and asset challenges faced by water utilities, including regulatory, environmental, safety and service delivery requirements
  • Sector-specific water knowledge, with an understanding of water and wastewater assets, treatment processes, networks, regulatory obligations and operational risks
  • Growing teams and developing long-term relationships with key stakeholders across the water sector
  • You will lead a variety of consultancy projects for our water infrastructure clients, from technical advisory work through to large-scale transformational programs. With a passion for helping clients get the best from their assets, you will identify, pursue and deliver work for water sector clients, supported by our Technical Directors and Consultants/Senior Consultants.

    Locally, we are a small and flexible team, and you will be an integral part of our leadership. In addition to client delivery, you will help shape our strategy, identify new opportunities, and mentor and develop our growing team.

    As part of the global business, you will also collaborate with AMCL and Turner & Townsend colleagues worldwide, contributing to thought leadership and developing new services relevant to our local water markets.

Qualifications

  • Degree level qualification preferred (engineering, business, economics, or other relevant field), or technical qualifications gained in industry
  • Significant experience working in the Water sector in Australia, New Zealand or the UK (experience in Rail, Power, Aviation or Defence also considered)
  • Exposure to regulatory frameworks for the relevant sector(s) and deep understanding of sector challenges and opportunities
  • Experience leading teams to deliver quality outcomes, including line management, performance management and mentoring
  • Growing professional networks through proactive industry engagement and professional membership bodies
  • Proven experience delivering quality service to internal or external customers, with good communication and ability to build rapport
  • Business planning, including commercial management, risk management and planning
  • Desirable experience (not essential):

  • Asset management capability assessment and improvement road-mapping
  • Delivering transformational, multi-year programs
  • Asset management software system management or implementation
