Job Summary

Under immediate supervision, assists in many areas of the Election Board with a variety of tasks by performing the following duties.

Job Description

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
•    Perform filing and data entry.
•    Answer incoming calls for registration, absentee and precinct departments. 
•    Process mail and material handling.
•    Alphabetize and redate Absentee envelopes.
•    Process ballots.
•    Assist with precinct supply checkout.
•    Perform other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Skill in:
•    Customer service

•    Using a personal computer and various office equipment
Knowledge of:
•    Basic office practices
•    Database software
Ability to:
•    Understand and follow oral and written instructions
•    Exercise tact, patience and courtesy in dealing with others
•    Speak, distinctly and in a pleasing manner
•    Detect clerical errors
•    Cooperate and work well with others
•    Read, write and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos
•    Effectively present information in one-on-one and small groups situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization
•    Apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instruction
•    Deal with problems involving a few concreate variables in standardized situations

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES 
This job has no supervisory responsibilities

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); plus one to three months related experience and/or training.
