The Business Unit Manager, with their counterparts, is responsible for the overall success of the manufacturing operations, which includes safety, delivery, quality, throughput, costs, and cycle time. S/he helps to set priorities in the business and to focus the team on problems to most effectively manage resources. The Business Unit Manager has the principal responsibility for prioritizing and coordinating all manufacturing support requirements for their shift including maintenance, engineering, facilities, and materials management. Success in this position depends heavily on leadership, communication, and teamwork.

This position requires US citizenship or Permanent Residency to meet ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulations) requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure employees have a safe work environment and all best practices and safety rules are being followed.
  • Assess current business processes (e.g. meetings). Define and implement new business practices to improve operational effectiveness.
  • Assess supervisor performance. Provide coaching and help mentor shift supervisors.
  • Provides leadership to help manage employee performance to ensure consistency and drive effectiveness.
  • Create staffing and production plans to meet manufacturing business plans. Work cooperatively with production control to manage manufacturing gates.
  • Act as a role model for manufacturing management staff. Set an example of leadership and professionalism for the entire organization.
  • Set priorities for Business Unit team, which includes maintenance, quality, manufacturing, and engineering.
  • Serve as an advocate for manufacturing employee issues and represent manufacturing interests in staff level forums.
  • Maintains excellent rapport with employees and support groups.
  • Project management for actions defined by Operations Staff.
  • Aspires to exceed expectations outlined in the Management Mission document, and demonstrates the ability to lead Shift Supervisors to excel at these same set of expectations on
  • Ability to read, write and communicate in English to the degree necessary to perform job.
  • Proficient computer skills required.  Shop floor control or ERP system experience is beneficial.
  • Knowledge of IPC standards.
  • Excellent interpersonal and organization skills.  Demonstrates superior written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to lead, motivate and accept responsibility. 
  • Able to work with minimal direct supervision and to independently define tactical plans and set priorities.
  • Ability to adapt to changing business needs by prioritizing resources and commitments. Ability to make independent decisions. 
  • Advanced knowledge of manufacturing and MRP practices, operations management; knowledge of advanced manufacturing techniques and disciplines is beneficial.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience is required
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the PCB or related industry with 3 years of experience as a supervisor or manager.
  • Experience leading teams and directing cross-functional projects is required.
  • Prior experience managing managers/supervisors is preferred.              

Working Environment:

  • Manufacturing environment including exposure to chemicals, dust and noise.
  • Ability to work in a cleanroom environment.
  • Must be flexible to support 24 hour, seven day/week operations and work extended hours based on company needs and be available for after-hours emergency calls.
  • Weekend and holiday work may be required.

Benefits are available 1st of the month following date of hire.


Compensation for roles at TTM Technologies varies depending on a wide array of factors including but not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set and level of experience. As required by local law, TTM provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that my be hired in New York, California and Colorado. For California-based roles, compensation ranges are based upon specific physical locations.

Export Statement:
Must comply with TTM Export Control Policies and Procedures and all applicable laws including ITAR, EAR and OFAC including but not limited to: a) being able to identify ITAR product on the manufacturing floor and understand that access to these products and related technical data is restricted to only US Citizens and US Permanent Residents; b) recognition of  Foreign Person visitors by badge differentiation; c) understand and follow authorization procedures for bringing foreign visitors into facilities (VAL); d) understand the Export and ITAR requirements for shipments leaving the US; e) manage vendor approvals for ITAR manufacturing and services.
