The primary responsibility of the Business Process Specialist is to drive operational efficiencies by implementing enhancements to current business processes as well as ensuring optimization of key Business Solutions. 

Essential Job Functions:

  • Drive business process optimization and consistency across the organization by evaluating business processes and implementing process improvements.
  • Identify opportunities to increase productivity, efficiency, quality or client/colleague satisfaction and/or opportunities to reduce expenses and eliminate waste.
  • Work collaboratively with Technology, leaders and colleagues to implement technology solutions which automate activities and processes.
  • Support colleagues with workflow execution, system usage and customizations.
  • Work collaboratively with key stakeholders seeking input and developing win-win solutions to any operation-related systems, process, or quality issues.
  • Demonstrate outstanding levels of service, quickly responding to all inquiries and requests for workflow support and exhibiting high levels of professionalism and expertise.
  • Effectively communicate and assist with training colleagues on system enhancement and process changes to ensure system adoption, utilization and optimization of systems.
  • Supports the implementation of tools that enable colleague self service data monitoring and leader level team data oversight. Monitors and coordinates the escalation of data related issues.
  • Review process execution to identify issues that may impact regulatory, compliance, or security obligations.
  • Ensure process and workflow documentation is updated regularly.
  • Support operations/sales teams by evaluating, recommending, and implementing additional software solutions to drive efficiencies.
  • Maintain high degree of technical competence and industry/market expertise.
  • Increase industry and job knowledge as measured by attendance at continuing education, attaining or updating designations and participation in other agency training offerings.
  • Maintain confidentiality of client and company information.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Credentials:

  • Two or four-year degree preferred, or four years of comparable work experience that demonstrates the skills needed to succeed in this role.
  • Two years insurance industry experience preferred.
  • One year of process review, improvement or workflow/system support preferred
  • Customer service experience required.
  • Applied Epic Agency Management experience preferred.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and basic PowerPoint functions.

  • Demonstrates accuracy, thoroughness, and follow‑through to complete tasks efficiently and with high quality.

  • Exercises sound judgment and independent decision‑making while managing competing priorities effectively.
  • Maintains confidentiality, stays calm under pressure, and interacts respectfully with colleagues and clients.
  • Self‑motivated, able to work with minimal direction, think creatively/critically, and drive continuous improvement.
