About this role

The Low Voltage Technician is responsible for the onsite installation of nurse call, security and fire life safety systems within Healthcare facilities. They actively participates in the overall installation of projects as directed by Healthcare leadership and management. The Low Voltage Technician is a vital component to the project performing the installation of devices, running wiring, and performing basic construction needs to ensure the successful completion of client projects. They are expected to display an understanding of electrical regulations, construction requirements, material and device functions as well as industry standards. 

Responsibilities include demolition, construction rough ins, wire pulling, material staging, project prep and clean up.

 

Schedule: 

  • Must be able to work weekends, nights, split shifts, and rotating shifts (if needed). 

Essential Functions:

  • Maintain good housekeeping while on project site by keeping work area clean and organized
  • Follow instructions from Lead/Foreman to ensure successful installation of project components
  • Adhere to all workplace safety expectations, regulations and standards
  • Interpret drawings and identify best methods of project completion
  • Possess knowledge of security, nurse call and fire life safety systems, including but not limited to EST3, Lenel, and Ascom
  • Have ability to operate basic hand tools

Position Requirements: 

  • 0-2 years in construction and/or low voltage installation
  • High school diploma (or equivalent)
  • Valid California Driver License and proof of auto insurance. 
  • Punctuality and regular attendance
  • Must be able to get required vaccinations/immunizations needed to meet client requirements. Work is performed in hospitals and other medical facilities with patient contact.

Physical Demands & Work Environments:

  • Repetitive substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers
  • Walk, drive, bend, stoop, hear, and speak
  • Move/transport/install/remove items weighing 50+ pounds
  • Drive for 2+ hours in a work shift/day
  • You may work at extreme heights occasionally, and an indoor environment under all temperature variations; confined spaces may occasionally be required.
