About this role

Are you hands-on, customer-focused, and enjoy solving problems? We’re looking for a Fire Systems Technician I to join our team and play a key role in delivering excellent service to our customers.

In this role, you’ll work directly with customers to troubleshoot issues, perform repairs, and recommend solutions that meet their needs. You’ll use creativity and technical skills to resolve service requests efficiently while building trust and strong relationships with customers.

Schedule: 

  • Hours may vary. Must be able to work weekends, nights, split shifts, and rotating shifts (if needed). 

Essential Functions:

  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve issues with fire alarm and life safety systems, including control panels, initiating devices, notification appliances, and related components.
  • Service new and existing customers by reviewing work orders, planning daily travel, and responding to fire alarm service calls in a timely and professional manner.
  • Perform system testing, inspections, and routine maintenance in accordance with NFPA codes, local regulations, and company standards.
  • Accurately document billable time, materials used, test results, and corrective actions in the company CRM system, ensuring all fire alarm service tickets are complete and detailed.
  • Review completed work with customers, explain system functionality and repairs, and obtain customer sign-off before leaving the site.
  • Demonstrate working knowledge of fire alarm system operation, including alarm initiation, supervision, monitoring, and communication with central stations.
  • Install, program, and service fire alarm systems from manufacturers such as Notifier, Fire-Lite, Honeywell, Simplex, Edwards, Siemens, and Bosch.
  • Identify system deficiencies and make recommendations for repairs, upgrades, or code compliance improvements.

Position Requirements:

  • 1-4 years construction/low voltage experience
  • High school diploma (or equivalent)
  • Valid California Driver License, and proof of auto insurance. 
  • Punctuality and regular attendance

Physical Demands & Work Environment:

  • Ability to Drive for 2+ hours in a work shift/day, daily
  • Ability to drive, walk, bend, stoop, hear, and speak, daily
  • Ability to work in indoor and outdoor environments, under all temperature variations
  • Ascend/Descend and work at heights above 6ft and extreme heights, occasionally
  • Move/Transport items weighing 20 pounds, occasionally
  • Position self to work in confined spaces, occasionally
  • Pushing/Pulling using upper extremities, daily
  • Stand or Sit for long periods (4+ hours), daily
  • Work environment may be construction sites, commercial buildings, high rise/mid-rise buildings, and/or medical facilities such as hospitals, doctor’s offices, etc. with patient contact.

Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education and/or training.
