Job Description:
The successful candidate will be responsible for performing technical procedures within the Pathology Laboratory, including but not limited to, embedding, microtomy, routine and special staining.
Qualifications:
- Must be a graduate of a recognized program for Medical Laboratory Technology
- Must be registered and a member in good standing with the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Ontario (CMLTO) (or awaiting CSMLS/CMLTO approval)
- Hospital Grossing and/or recent IHC experience asset
- Experience with and demonstrated understanding of quality assurance and good laboratory practice
- Effective analytical and problem-solving skills, high level of initiative and, organizational skills
- Evidence of participation in continuing education
- Good understanding of microanatomy
- Comfortable using Microsoft Office and other computer software applications
- Preference will be given to applicants with recent experience in histology
- Satisfactory attendance and performance record required
