About this role
<p>We’re supporting a client on a mid-level <strong>Backend Engineer</strong> role within a large European tech platform operating at scale. This is a <strong>direct B2B contract</strong> with the client, working on <strong>high-traffic consumer platforms used daily by millions</strong>.</p>
<p>You’ll be joining a core engineering team that builds <strong>reliable, scalable</strong> <strong>Node.js services</strong> at the heart of the platform. This isn’t a “feature factory” — your work will have a <strong>direct impact</strong> on how the platform performs, scales, and evolves.</p>
<h2 id="tasks">Tasks</h2>
<ul>
<li>Design, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs for high-traffic production systems.</li>
<li>Work closely with other engineers to implement <strong>scalable, reliable, and maintainable systems.</strong></li>
<li>Collaborate with Data Engineers, Product Analysts, and other teams to integrate data-driven features and services.</li>
<li>Continuously optimize backend components for <strong>performance, scalability, and security.</strong></li>
<li>Contribute to <strong>team tooling and automation</strong> (CI/CD, testing, monitoring).</li>
<li>Take ownership of your work and proactively propose improvements across the stack.</li>
</ul>
<h2 id="requirements">Requirements</h2>
<ul>
<li>3–5+ years of experience in backend or full-stack development <strong>(Node.js / TypeScript</strong> preferred).</li>
<li>Solid experience with <strong>APIs, microservices, serverless, or event-driven architectures.</strong></li>
<li>Strong problem-solving skills, curiosity, and ability to work autonomously in a collaborative team.</li>
<li>Good communication skills: ability to give and receive feedback, and work cross-functionally.</li>
<li>Nice to have: experience with cloud platforms (AWS), DevOps, or data engineering.</li>
