DISC Surgery Center is seeking a full-time Medical Scribe to assist an orthopedic spinal surgeon who specializes in treating neck and spine conditions. This position will be required to work on-site Monday – Friday from 8:30am – 5:00pm PST. This position will primarily work out of our Newport Beach clinic, with travel to our Marina Del Rey clinic every Thursday required.
In this role, you will:
Attend all clinics, transcribing clinical visits and completing notes/orders the same day.
Send orders to appropriate staff for follow-up appointments.
Update notes for billing and audit patient charts
Perform pre-appointment and follow-up calls with patients, documenting any changes.
Assist with inventory of office forms and maintain organized work area.
Assist with answering and directing phone calls.
Perform additional tasks as needed
QualificationsIn this role, you should have:
High school diploma or equivalent.
At least one year of healthcare experience, preferably in Orthopedics
Experience with EMR systems required
Excellent interpersonal skills for interacting with peers, patients and physicians
Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, demanding, high-volume environment with frequent interruptions
Pay Range: $21.00 - $25.00/hour
