Regions Hospital in St. Paul, MN is seeking a Nurse Manager to oversee our S7 Cardiovascular ICU & Progressive Care unit. We are known for saving lives in our Level I Trauma Center, and our nursing staff are key to the exceptional care we provide each patient. As a nursing professional you will be empowered to manage your clinical practice and working environment through our Shared Governance Model, which focuses on evidence-based nursing practice.
The Nurse Manager would be responsible for directing, planning, coordinating and supervising activities associated with patient care on assigned patient care department where nursing care is delivered. This includes establishing, maintaining and evaluating standards of care and assuming responsibility for staff development, environmental, human resource and fiscal management.
The Cardiovascular ICU and Progressive Care unit is a 36-bed unit that has a patient population of those who have experienced acute cardiac and vascular events such as myocardial infarction, undergone open-heart surgery, and those requiring surgical or interventional strategies to restore circulation. Our team prides itself in our ability to care for complex patients who have received new and innovative therapies and managing complex medical devices such as intra-aortic balloon pump and ventricular assist devices, for example.
Work Schedule: Full-time, 1.0 FTE Exempt
Required Qualifications:
•Baccalaureate degree in Nursing, or AD in Nursing and Baccalaureate degree in a related field; AND
•Master’s degree in Nursing, Health Care Administration, Education, Health Sciences, Behavioral Sciences, Life Sciences (e.g. Chemistry), or Business; OR
•Four (4) years (8,320 hours) acute care RN experience with two (2) years (4160 hours) in a nursing leadership position, e.g. Assistant Nurse Manager or Charge Nurse.
•Licensed as a registered nurse by the state of Minnesota
•National (ANA) certification in Management, or clinical nursing specialty
Preferred Qualifications:
•Four (4) years (8,320 hours) ICU RN experience with two (2) years (4160 hours) in a Nurse Manager position
•Experience caring for patients requiring Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO), including leadership or oversight of ECMO-trained staff and/or ECMO program operations
