About this role

The Advanced Practice Clinician (APC) Moonlighter plays a key role in supporting Behavioral Health services at Regions Hospital. In this oncall position, you will apply your clinical expertise to evaluate and treat psychiatric patients within our inpatient mental health unit and consult liaison service.

 

As an APC Moonlighter, you will:

  • Conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments, including intake evaluations and physical exams.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with supervising psychiatrists.
  • Provide medication management and ongoing patient followup.
  • Coordinate care with interdisciplinary treatment teams.
  • Make appropriate referrals and support patients throughout their hospitalization.

You will work closely with our inpatient psychiatry program, delivering highquality behavioral health care within a supportive and collaborative environment.

 

Work Schedule

  • OnCall / Moonlighter

 

Required Education

  • Physician Assistant degree (MPAS)
    or
  • Nurse Practitioner degree (DNP or MSN)

Recent graduates of accredited PA or NP programs are welcome to apply. NP applicants must have completed a Family Nurse Practitioner or Adult Nurse Practitioner program.

 

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Ability to perform basic psychiatric and medical assessments, including physical exams during mental health admissions.
  • Ability to assess and manage acute and chronic medical concerns and psychiatric emergencies.

 

Required Licensure

Physician Assistant Candidates:

  • Current NCCPA certification
  • Active PA license in Minnesota

Nurse Practitioner Candidates:

  • Current certification through AANP or ANCC
  • Active Nurse Practitioner license in Minnesota
