Tri-City Group is seeking experienced and motivated Structured Cabling Technicians to join our team for large-scale data center buildouts in Cedar Rapids, IA. This role involves involves the installation of category-rated cabling, fiber optic cabling and splicing, cabinet and IT room infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

• Install and terminate Category 6, 6A, and fiber optic cabling systems.
• Build out cable pathways, including ladder racks, J-hooks, and cable tray.
• Construct and configure IT rooms, including racks, patch panels, and cable management.
• Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and technical drawings.
• Operate lifts and climb ladders safely to perform overhead work.
• Perform repetitive lifting of materials and equipment up to 50 lbs.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
• Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.

Qualifications:

• Formal training or certification in structured cabling installation. Certifications include: IBEW JATC Apprenticeship Completion, BICSI Technician, BICSI Installer, and/or professional training/certificate at an accredited school.
• Field experience of 1yr to 2yrs full time in this industry.
• Proven experience in data center or commercial cabling projects.
• Ability to read and interpret construction documents and specifications.
• Reliable transportation to and from job sites.
• Ability to work 50–60 hours per week for the duration of the project. 
• Physically capable of climbing ladders, operating lifts, and lifting heavy materials..
  

Work Environment:

• Job sites are primarily large data centers under active construction.
• Work may be performed indoors and outdoors, in varying weather conditions.
• PPE and safety training will be provided and required.
