Position Overview:

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Accounting Intern to work alongside the friendly ANZ finance team. This internship offers hands-on opportunities and experience in various aspects of finance and accounting operations, providing an excellent opportunity to develop practical skills in a real-world business and gain insight into the cybersecurity industry. Under the guidance of our experienced professionals, the intern will gain exposure to financial operation, procedures, controls, compliance and day-to-day finance and accounting tasks in a global cybersecurity leader.

Primary Responsibilities:

Assist with Bank reconciliation and general ledger entries.
Support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions
Liaise with suppliers/vendors to reconcile trade accounts.
Contribute to month-end close processes
Conducting analysis of financial data to support decision making processes
Assist with internal and external audit process as required
Accept ad hoc duties and assist with special projects as directed by the Financial Accountant.

Qualifications, Experience & Characteristics:

Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, or related field.
Passionate and dedication to developing for a future finance career are vital.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, enjoy building relationship with close stakeholders, willing to share ideas, express thoughts, and open to others’ views and feedback.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team, accountable and reliable
Basic understanding of accounting principles and journal entries.
Proficiency in MS Office particularly Microsoft Excel and Outlooks
Flexible working hours, Monday, Wednesday and Friday are teamwork days
Potential for a casual position following the completion of the internship, based on performance and business needs
