In this role, you'll:


Take ownership of delivering projects that shape Sydney’s rail network. You’ll collaborate with clients, engineers, and key stakeholders to scope, plan, and execute projects from concept to completion. Your responsibilities include managing project components, coordinating risk and safety reviews, analysing technical designs, and ensuring quality standards are met. You’ll play a vital role in monitoring progress, resolving challenges, and handing over completed works that meet stakeholder expectations. This is your chance to combine technical expertise with project management skills to deliver safe, reliable, and innovative rail solutions for millions of customers.


Other specifics to note: This is a Monday-to-Friday position, with occasional weekend work for planning or project delivery. Night shifts may be required from time to time, and some assignments may involve overnight stays depending on project needs.

About you


You’re a proactive problem-solver with a passion for delivering high-quality engineering and project outcomes. You hold tertiary qualifications in electrical engineering or a related discipline and bring hands-on experience in project delivery, ideally within a rail environment. You thrive in collaborative settings, communicate effectively with stakeholders, and manage multiple priorities with confidence.


Your expertise spans functional specification development, design coordination, safety in design, and constructability reviews, supported by strong skills in project planning, budgeting, and risk management. Most importantly, you’re committed to safety, excellence, and continuous improvement, ensuring every project meets the highest standards.


To excel in this role, you will have prior experience in Electrical - Overhead Wiring, along with the ability to work independently and manage your own workload effectively. Candidates with a trade-based background or extensive construction experience will be highly regarded. You should have at least one year of experience as a Systems Engineer or several years in construction, demonstrating adaptability and resilience in complex project environments.
