You’re a purposeful leader with the proven capability to shape the future of NSW’s transport fleet by leading multi modal engineering standards, assurance and asset lifecycle strategy across rail, road and maritime systems at scale.
You will be part of the Chief Engineer’s leadership team, contributing to enterprise-wide technical authority, engineering standards and asset management outcomes across Transport for NSW.
In this role, you'll:
Join the Engineering function within the Prioritisation & Asset Management (PAM) Branch, which provides enterprise-level technical authority and asset management leadership to support whole-of-life performance, risk and value optimisation across Transport’s asset portfolio.
Reporting to the Chief Engineer, you will lead the authoritative technical stewardship of Transport for NSW’s entire fleet portfolio - heavy rail, metro, light rail, bus and ferries – ensuring engineering standards, assurance frameworks and lifecycle strategies deliver safety, performance and long term public value.
Operate as a senior technical authority within the Chief Engineer’s leadership team, applying an ISO 55001 asset management lens to optimise fleet investment, maintenance strategies and system performance across all modes of transport. You will ensure that multi-modal fleet engineering governance, standards, and assurance processes align with Transport’s Technical Assurance Organisation (TAO) framework.
Also bridge operational, engineering and asset management disciplines - working seamlessly across modes, operators, maintainers, regulators and industry partners - to drive interoperability, harmonisation and innovation across the NSW transport network.
Represent Transport for NSW at national and international forums, providing trusted executive advice on fleet engineering, sustainability, emerging technologies and whole of life asset outcomes that support community mobility and economic growth.
This is a full-time Ongoing (Perm) Transport Senior Service Executive TSSE1A level role offering an attractive remuneration package.
