Description
Tradesmen International is immediately hiring experienced Grade 3 Stationary Engineers for projects located in the Baltimore, MD area. This is a first shift opportunity, and the pay rate is $40/hour based on experience and skill level. Job Scope:
- Operate and monitor stationary equipment
- Record temperature, pressure, water levels, and fuel consumption in logbooks
- Read meters and gauges at scheduled intervals
- Conduct routine inspections: oiling & lubricating equipment, tightening fittings, replacing gaskets, valves, and gauges
- Assist with furnace and boiler maintenance and repair
- Perform water titration testing and adding prescribed chemicals such as water softeners
- Clean and maintain fire and water sides of fuel-burning equipment, pumps, screens, pipes, and gratings
- Remove ashes and clinkers
- Switch to backup equipment when necessary
- Shut down equipment as directed
- Report unsafe conditions
