Who we’re looking for

Toyota’s IVS Department is looking for a passionate and highly motivated Automated Design Systems (ADS) Engineer. In this role, you will help shape the future of automated driving by supporting the development and delivery of advanced mobility technologies. You’ll work at the intersection of engineering, innovation, and safety—turning cutting‑edge ideas into high‑quality solutions that support Toyota’s movement toward safer, more intuitive automated driving features.

Reporting to the Program Manager, the person in this role will support the IVS Department’s objective to deliver industry‑leading ADS capabilities that meet Toyota’s standards for safety, precision, and user‑centric mobility.

What you’ll be doing

In this role, you’ll play a key part in ensuring automated driving system development progresses smoothly, accurately, and efficiently. Your workday will include close collaboration with software, system, validation, and hardware engineering teams as you help guide deliverables, documentation, and program alignment. Success in this position means driving clarity, enabling cross‑functional coordination, and supporting the seamless flow of requirements and engineering data.

  • Support end‑to‑end program execution by helping manage scope, objectives, milestones, and deliverables for ADS features.

  • Maintain program documentation, schedules, dashboards, and reports that support transparency and engineering alignment.

  • Coordinate with software, system, hardware, and validation teams to track dependencies and assist in issue resolution.

  • Contribute to milestone readiness reviews, including design reviews, integration checkpoints, and validation gates.

  • Communicate technical updates clearly to cross‑functional partners and global counterparts to ensure alignment.

  • Assist in evaluating requirements, specifications, and test plans to ensure alignment with program intent.

  • Support change control processes while balancing feature requests, timing, and cost considerations.

  • Ensure documentation, configuration management, and process compliance meet ASPICE, ISO 26262, and Toyota standards.

  • Support KPI tracking—such as schedule adherence, defect trends, and software maturity—to drive continuous improvement.

  • Contribute to a culture of collaboration, accountability, and proactive problem solving across multi‑disciplinary teams.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree that provides a strong foundation in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.

  • 2+ years of experience where you’ve supported program or project management within software, systems, automotive, or R&D environments.

  • Experience helping drive cross‑functional progress, tracking engineering deliverables, or supporting large‑scale technical programs.

  • Strong organizational and communication skills that help you keep teams aligned and informed.

  • Ability to understand technical concepts, manage documentation, and support engineering processes.

  • Familiarity with workflow or project management tools such as MS Project, Jira, ADO, or Confluence.

  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 25%, as needed.

  • Ability to work overtime up to 25%, as needed.

Added Bonus If You Have

  • An advanced degree that deepens your expertise in engineering, computer science, mobility systems, or automation.

  • Extra years of experience supporting ADS/ADAS or complex system/software development programs.

  • Experience working within ASPICE, ISO 26262, or similar quality and safety frameworks.

  • Advanced skills in program management or engineering tools, including dashboards or configuration management systems.

  • Certifications such as PMP or equivalent credentials that strengthen your program leadership capability.
