About this role

Cochrane is located in the breathtaking Bow Valley corridor in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains in southern Alberta. With a population of over 37,000 people, and growing steadily every year, Cochrane is a thriving town, surrounded by world-famous ranch country. Our western heritage is reflected in the Town’s architecture and our friendly people. The Town of Cochrane welcomes innovative and skilled individuals to join our team of over 250 employees.

One word that describes the Cochrane RancheHouse is STUNNING. Set against the backdrop of the Alberta foothills and the Rocky Mountains, this spectacular ranch‑style building offers the perfect combination of location, service, and ambiance. It’s not only home to the Town of Cochrane’s municipal offices — it’s also a full‑service Event Centre hosting everything from concerts and plays to corporate functions and weddings.

We provide full‑service coverage during scheduled events and operational hours, including weekdays, evenings, and weekends.

Do you have a hospitality background? Are you a customer focused worker who enjoys helping guests and supporting event set up and takedown? We’re looking for someone with excellent customer service skills, a problem solving mindset, and a positive attitude.

Please note: This casual position offers 20–30 hours per week through the spring and summer, followed by casual hours for the remainder of the year. Hours are based on coverage needs and may occasionally require short notice shifts. Most shifts occur evenings and weekends (Thursday–Sunday), with flexibility to support daytime shifts when needed.

The successful candidate is detail oriented, adaptable, and able to balance multiple priorities.  You’ll support visitors and guests at the RancheHouse — and ideally, you love weddings, because it’s going to be a busy summer.

Why Join Us?
• Play a key role in delivering memorable events at one of Cochrane’s most iconic community venues
• Be part of a supportive, collaborative team that takes pride in creating exceptional guest experiences
• Work in a vibrant, high‑energy environment where weddings, conferences, celebrations, and community gatherings come to life

• Maintain the RancheHouse facility, including janitorial duties, inventory management, stocking supplies, event set up and takedown, minor repairs, equipment inspections, and snow removal.
• Oversee client functions and work with caterers to ensure compliance with RancheHouse policies, health and safety requirements, and liquor service laws.
• Support clients with audio visual equipment, sound systems, and lighting systems.
• Perform facility security duties, including opening and closing tasks.
• Complete daily equipment and facility inspections, prepare the building for upcoming events, communicate key information to the next shift, and support incident prevention and reporting.
• Provide flexible shift coverage to ensure full service during scheduled events and operational hours.

If many of the following characteristics and skills describe you, we want to meet you!

• Confidence managing your time and completing tasks efficiently.
• Basic computer skills, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.

• Ability to adapt to a changing pace and environment.
• Strong oral and written communication skills, a solid work ethic, and a commitment to high quality service.
• Ability to work a rotating schedule, including evenings and weekends, and comfort working independently in the facility.
• ProServe certification

• Ability to repetitively lift up to 25 kg, push/pull carts, bend, work at heights, and walk for extended periods
