<p>Toshiba Global Commerce Solutions is seeking an Electronics Repair Manager. The Manager is responsible for leading the repair, refurbishment, and technical support operations for POS hardware systems. This role requires a strong electrical engineering background combined with proven leadership skills to manage technicians, optimize repair workflows, and ensure high-quality, timely service delivery. The POS Repair Manager serves as the technical authority for complex hardware issues while driving continuous improvement in repair processes, quality, and cost efficiency.</p> <p></p> <p><strong>Required Qualifications</strong></p> <ul> <li>Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field</li> <li>5+ years of experience repairing electronic hardware, preferably POS or similar transactional systems</li> <li>2+ years of experience in a supervisory or management role</li> <li>Strong knowledge of analog and digital electronics, power supplies, and embedded systems</li> <li>Ability to read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation</li> </ul> <p></p> <p></p> <p></p> <p><strong>Preferred Qualifications</strong></p> <ul> <li>Experience with POS systems, payment terminals, or retail technology environments</li> <li>Familiarity with EMV, PCI-related hardware requirements, and peripheral devices</li> <li>Experience with failure analysis, test fixture design, or repair process engineering</li> <li>Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement certification</li> </ul> <p></p> <p></p> <p><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></span></p> <p><strong>Technical Leadership</strong></p> <ul> <li>Serve as the subject matter expert for POS hardware, including terminals, printers, scanners, pin pads, networking components, and power systems</li> <li>Diagnose and resolve complex electrical, electronic, and electromechanical issues beyond technician-level troubleshooting</li> <li>Review and approve repair methodologies, schematics, and test procedures</li> <li>Support root cause analysis for recurring hardware failures and recommend design or process improvements</li> </ul> <p><strong>Operations &amp; Management</strong></p> <ul> <li>Lead, train, and manage a team of POS repair technicians</li> <li>Assign workloads, prioritize repair queues, and ensure service-level agreements (SLAs) are met</li> <li>Establish and maintain repair standards, quality controls, and documentation</li> <li>Monitor KPIs such as turnaround time, first-pass yield, repair cost, and return rates</li> </ul> <p><strong>Process Improvement</strong></p> <ul> <li>Develop and implement efficient repair workflows and diagnostic procedures</li> <li>Collaborate with engineering, procurement, and vendors to improve component reliability and availability</li> <li>Identify opportunities to reduce repair costs, downtime, and repeat failures</li> <li>Oversee inventory usage for parts, tools, and test equipment</li> </ul> <p><strong>Cross-Functional Collaboration</strong></p> <ul> <li>Act as the technical liaison between repair operations, field service teams, product engineering, and customers</li> <li>Support escalations from customer support and field technicians</li> <li>Provide technical input on new POS hardware introductions and repairability</li> </ul> <p><strong>Compliance &amp; Safety</strong></p> <ul> <li>Ensure compliance with ESD, electrical safety, and regulatory standards</li> <li>Maintain proper calibration and use of diagnostic and test equipment</li> <li>Enforce workplace safety and best practices within the repair environment</li> </ul> <p><strong>Skills &amp; Competencies</strong></p> <ul> <li>Strong leadership and team development skills</li> <li>Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities</li> <li>Effective communication with both technical and non-technical stakeholders</li> <li>High attention to detail and quality</li> <li>Ability to balance hands-on technical work with managerial responsibilities</li> </ul> <p><strong>Work Environment</strong></p> <ul> <li>Repair lab or depot environment with ESD-controlled workstations</li> <li>Occasional travel to field locations, vendors, or customer sites may be required</li> </ul> <hr> <p><strong>About the Company:</strong></p> <p>Toshiba Global Commerce Solutions is a dynamic billion-dollar global company based in Research Triangle Park, NC, providing retail store solutions to your favorite brands. &nbsp;Have you ever been in a hurry and made use of the self-checkout at Lowe’s Foods, earned fuel rewards at Kroger, or just paid for purchases at retailers such as Walmart, Michaels, Carrefour, The Gap, Calvin Klein, Boots, Cencosud, BJ’s, or Costco?
