About this role
We provide routing data to the TomTom Orbis Maps which combines open data from OpenStreetMap, Overture Maps Foundation, along with proprietary customer and TomTom data.
Our platform ensures data freshness, accuracy, and high quality, enabling the development of next-generation navigation systems.
As a part of Maps-Routing team you will be responsible for building tools and applications, as well as processes aimed at delivering data to our maps. Your engagement will encompass sourcing the data, transforming it, improving quality, managing application environments, and supervising them on a daily basis.
\n- Work closely with an engineering team as well as product management and representatives from other teams.
- Build scalable solutions by leveraging suitable programming languages, frameworks, and efficient cloud solutions.
- Engage in different phases of the project lifecycle, including gathering requirements, developing and testing code, or integrating with existing architectures.
- Identify risks and performance issues in existing applications and propose solutions.
- Contribute your own ideas and actively participate in designing technical solutions that meet business requirements.
- At least 4 years of professional software development experience in JVM languages (preferably Java or Scala).
- Advanced knowledge of public cloud solutions.
- Great communication skills and a passion for teamwork.
- Comfortable with written and verbal communication in English.
- An analytical mindset and enthusiasm for solving complex problems.
- A desire to learn and expand your skillset.
- Background in creating CI/CD pipelines.
- Familiarity with tools such as Kubernetes and Docker
- Experience in Big Data processing (e.g., Spark or Hadoop).
