Senior Azure Engineer

Overview

TierPoint is looking for a motivated Senior Cloud Engineer to join TierPoint’s Professional Services team. The TierPoint Professional Services team enables customers’ digital transformation journeys with best practices, innovation and, technical leadership for adoption of TierPoint services. You will work as a member of the TierPoint team and be responsible for providing advice and technical consulting to our customers in the adoption of Azure Cloud and TierPoint Managed Services. In addition, you will contribute to the development of standards and accelerators for architecture, design, and delivery of TierPoint services. You will also support TierPoint implementation and service delivery teams with guidance on applying these best practices. The successful candidate will be experienced and comfortable coordinating members of engineering, operations and service delivery to complete customer enabling tasks and projects. A critical skill of the successful candidate will be his/her enthusiasm towards customer service while working with all internal constituents and partners. 

Responsibilities

• Designing and deploying cloud systems
• Working with client's IT team, regarding design, implementation, monitoring and optimization within cloud platform
• Using automated tools or manually, deploying client infrastructure in Azure
• Troubleshooting and debugging issues
• Documentation and communication of client configurations in cloud environments
• Setting up and activating cloud accounts and configurations
• Testing custom configurations and giving feedback to internal teams for new solutions.
• Work with internal and client teams to develop implementation and follow up plans.
• Participates in the selection of toolkits that enable the Professional Services practice to become more efficient and effective.
• Assists in the delivery of statements of work to ensure projects are delivered successfully with appropriate levels of gross margin and customer satisfaction.
• Participate in creating a learning program to ensure all members of the Professional Services organization are current on modern and relevant technologies.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Strong experience with Design and Implementation of High Availability, High Performance resilient solutions with Azure native solutions
• Appropriate certifications in Azure
• Strong understanding of different attributes for cloud application availability, scalability, and ability to propose optimized design for cloud.
• Strong technical acumen as it relates to assessing and transforming customer environments.
• Experience with DevOps and continuous integration tools (Terraform, Jenkins)
• Experience with containers and API based automation/integration.
• Customer advocacy
• Adequate professional experience and knowledge to perform Job Responsibilities
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to prioritize and organize effectively.
• Ability to work both independently and with others.
• Ability to operate in a fast moving, team-oriented, collaborative environment with tight deadlines.
• Proficiency in using MS Office Suite and Windows-based computer applications.

Preferred Experience

• 5+ years of experience in architecting, developing, and deploying enterprise applications, with Microsoft and/or Amazon technology stack preferred.
• 3+ years of experience in designing and deploying IAAS/PAAS solutions on Microsoft Azure and/or Amazon AWS platform and experience in workload migrations.
• Experience with public cloud platforms, including design, implementation, and workload migration.
• Experience implementing Hub-Spoke network topologies, Virtual Network (vNET) peering, Network Security Groups (NSG), Public IP addresses (PIP), Site-to-Site VPN and Azure load-balancers.
• Specialization in Networking, Security, and or Data Management preferred.
• Application architecture and development experience preferred.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
