<p><strong>About the Role</strong></p>
<p>We’re looking for a skilled and motivated <strong>BI Engineer</strong> to join our <strong>Finance Data Team</strong> at THG. This isn’t your typical BI role — you’ll play a key part in <strong>building and maintaining the data platform</strong> that underpins finance and operational insights across a fast-paced e-commerce business.</p>
<p>You’ll work alongside a tight-knit team of engineers. Your focus will be on <strong>ensuring data integrity, reliability, and performance</strong>, as well as contributing to the evolution of our data architecture as we explore new cloud-based solutions and technologies.</p>
<p><strong>As a BI Engineer you will be: </strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Designing, developing, and maintaining robust <strong>data pipelines</strong>, <strong>ETL processes</strong>, and <strong>data models</strong> using the <strong>MS BI stack</strong> (SQL Server, SSRS, SSAS).</li>
<li>Supporting business-as-usual reporting needs and driving forward key finance and operational projects.</li>
<li>Helping to shape and evolve the future architecture of BI at THG, including contributing to <strong>cloud migration strategies, integrating new technologies and services</strong>.</li>
<li>Working with tools like <strong>Analysis Services, Tableau</strong>, <strong>Superset</strong>, and traditional reporting services to deliver meaningful dashboards and insights.</li>
<li>Collaborating with stakeholders to translate business requirements into scalable data solutions.</li>
<li>Consuming and integrating data from <strong>APIs</strong> and external sources into the data warehouse environment.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>What skills and experience do I need for this role?</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>3–5 years of experience in <strong>BI/data engineering roles</strong>.</li>
<li>Strong <strong>SQL</strong> skills and experience working with large, complex datasets.</li>
<li>Hands-on experience with the <strong>MS BI stack</strong> (SQL Server, SSRS, SSAS).</li>
<li>Experience with <strong>Python</strong> for data manipulation and API integrations.</li>
<li>Solid understanding of <strong>data modelling</strong>, <strong>ETL</strong>, and BI best practices.</li>
<li>A <strong>problem-solver</strong> with a proactive mindset and excellent collaboration skills.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Desirable:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Experience working with <strong>GCP</strong> or other cloud platforms.</li>
<li>Data migration projects either to or from the cloud.</li>
<li>Familiarity with <strong>financial datasets</strong> or finance-focused data workflows.</li>
