The GSD Core instruments Technical Sales Specialist will be focused on developing and growing our market presence for GSD Core Instruments, specifically CE, qPCR and dPCR instruments. This individual will sell directly as well as support the broader inside sales teams in delivering our goals. This role serves as a technical sales resource for the customers across the territory as well as across a highly matrixed inside sales organization. To be fully effective, the person needs to have experience in CE, qPCR, dPCR technologies and workflows and possess the skill for learning and supporting new market needs.
What will you do?
Implement and maintain an annual territory plan and quarterly business plans to meet or exceed financial goals to be shared across our selling matrix. Use product and application knowledge across our genetic analysis portfolio to successfully apply consultative and strategic selling presentations.
Understand customer goals, priorities and challenges to provide solutions best positioned to address customer needs.
How will you get there?
Bachelor’s Degree in Biology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry or related field; or the equivalent knowledge and experience. A Master’s or PhD degree is desirable.
Minimum 3 years of sales experience in Life Sciences or similar Field Application Support.
Experience selling newly introduced technologies, systems and/or applications in the life science market.
Technically sound in CE, dPCR, qPCR technologies and workflows.
Experience working with key opinion leaders is preferred.
Must have scientific consulting skills-demonstrating extensive knowledge of Genetic technologies and applications.
Ability to accurately cost projects and speak to workflow advantages to create Return on Investment with the customers and sales colleagues.
Confirmed ability to lead a sales strategy throughout the sales process and evaluate customer’s business data .
Accomplished sales skills and can speak to competitive technologies, demonstrate value as a supporting partner in the presales process, while also independently driving sales throughout all stages of the sales process.
Understands the market: customer’s industry, business process, critical success factors, competitive standing.
Builds effective relationships, collaborates and communicates clearly.
Articulates value by linking solutions to key customer challenges and opportunities, comfortable influencing and negotiating.
Minimum of 50% travel expected by car, train & airplane.
Valid driver’s license in good standing.
