About this role
De toekomst van de ICT en bijbehorende dienstverlening voor onderwijs- en onderzoek ligt volgens SURF én de leden voor een belangrijk deel in de cloud. De leden (instellingen) willen daarom flexibel gebruik kunnen maken van de cloud en deze combineren met eigen ICT-infrastructuren (hybride infrastructuur).
Overgang naar de cloud is in de praktijk geen eenvoudige stap, en voor veel instellingen geldt dat er weinig ervaring mee is opgedaan. Er kunnen daardoor onverwachte uitdagingen ontstaan tijdens de uitvoering van cloud projecten alsook in de beheerfase erna. De initieel beoogde voordelen worden dan niet behaald waardoor afbreukrisico c.q. kapitaalvernietiging kan ontstaan.
Om instellingen te ondersteunen bij deze uitdagingen is het dan ook gewenst om SURFcumulus Professional Services via een SURF aanbesteding voor hen beschikbaar te maken. SURF kiest ervoor om dit via een DAS te laten verlopen. De levering van SURFcumulus Professional Services is nadrukkelijk gekoppeld aan de SURFcumulus dienst.
