POSITION SUMMARY

The Wright Center’s Marketing and Communications team is looking for a dynamic, highly talented Graphic Artist that has proficiency using design and presentation software packages to include: Microsoft Office Applications and Adobe Creative Suite products, such as InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop and Premiere Pro. In addition, the ideal candidate will have experience in Wordpress websites, as well as photography, and shooting and editing short videos for website and social media content.

Must have a comprehensive knowledge of graphic design principles, a wide variety of media and production methods, and familiarity with digital file formats (jpg, gif, eps, pdf) and the strengths and weaknesses of each. Will be assigned a wide range of routine to complex duties including development of: publications, brochures, rack cards, posters, banners, social media images, flyers, multimedia illustration, logo development, brand development, exhibits, and web design. Has the ability to multitask and work under very tight deadlines. Works well with printers, copywriters, photographers, other artists and website designers. Must have a good understanding of the printing process, including working with and creating artwork for digital printers and presses.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS

While living and demonstrating our Core Values, the Graphic Artist will: 

  • Translate the Wright Center’s needs and branding strategies into design strategies
  • Design visual concepts using graphic design tools including design software
  • Select colors, fonts, photographs, layouts and other design elements to communicate creative concepts
  • Collaborate with marketing and communications team members, branding experts, front end developers, marketing, content and other professionals 
  • Articulate and pitch design concepts to clients, art directors, and others
  • Plan and design layouts and navigational structure for assigned projects
  • Design publications, brochures, rack cards, posters, banners, social media images, flyers, multimedia illustration, logo development, brand development, exhibits, and web design.
  • Create these materials by using PowerPoint and Adobe's Creative Suite—including Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and more.
  • Responsible for website builds, Power Point presentations, as well as ad reservations, placement, and design.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Meet The Wright Center for Community Health and its affiliated entity The Wright Center for Graduate Medical Education EOS© People Analyzer Tool
  • Buy in and experience working in the EOS® model (strongly preferred)
  • Mission-oriented; represents the enterprise in a professional manner while demonstrating organizational pride
  • 2-5 years graphic design experience
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite specifically Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere Pro
  • Excellent eye for detail
  • Solid knowledge of design and visual principles
  • Ability to evaluate choices critically, with the organization’s needs in mind
  • Ability to communicate design choices clearly
  • Great multitasking skills and ability to work under pressure
  • Self-starter and strong independent worker not needing management, but a team player who likes working on projects with the team
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
  • Knowledge of video production, layouts, graphic fundamentals, typography, print, and the web
  • Works well with others in a team environment
