Statement of Purpose:
To perform daily repair and maintenance work on restaurant equipment and property and to ensure the timely completion of Preventative Maintenance Schedules, while providing ongoing training for store management.ACCOUNTABILITIES:
1. Performs preventative maintenance service, emergency repair, and cosmetic repair on restaurant equipment and property.
2. Assists where necessary in the installation and modification of equipment, including those resulting from special projects (I.e. timers, Double-Sided Grill, etc.)
3. Monitors and oversees outside contract work in assigned stores, ensures proper coordination and communication between all involved parties.
4. Performs regular inspections of all assigned restaurants and reports the condition and maintenance status of equipment and property.
5. Provides ongoing training and education to store management personnel regarding equipment care and execution of Preventative Maintenance Schedules.
6. Ensures accurate and timely reporting of invoices, maintenance logs, purchase orders, Capital Appropriation Request forms and all other required administrative paperwork. Provides accurate reporting and administrative functions training, as necessary.
7. Maintains store-level records of equipment, spare parts and company owned tool inventories. Provides reports as requested.
8. Assists supervisor with recommendations regarding capital budget expenditures for equipment, building and property repair or replacement.
9. Maintains current service and warranty records and prevents repair expenses not covered by or in violation of warranties.
10. Performs duties as required for store openings, special events, fairs and the store closing program; assists in transfer, sales and/or disposal of equipment. Assists with supervisory responsibilities in the absence of supervisor, as requested.
11. Performs other job related duties as may be assigned or required.
EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS:
Knowledge
1. In-depth/complete technical knowledge of HVAC, refrigeration, electrical repair, carpentry and plumbing. Ability to maintain/repair various types of electrical, HVAC and refrigeration equipment, read electrical schematics, understand 3-phase electrical and use of various testing equipment.
Education
1. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) HVAC/R Type 1 and Type 2 certification is required. Technical certification is preferred. Legal licensing may be required in some locations.
Experience
1. 3 or more years experience in directly related HVAC, refrigeration and general maintenance/ repair work, which includes demonstrated mastery of all areas.
Other
1. Irregular hours or periodic overtime required. Frequent exposure to extreme weather situations. Required to be on call on a 24 hours basis.
