Job Description

We’re hiring for a Patient Service Coordinator at the University of Chicago Medicine in Hyde Park, Illinois!

 

The Patient Service Coordinator (PSC), under the director of the Administrative Manager and Supervisor, will be responsible for providing high volume customer service and clerical support to coordinate and facilitate patient care within the units. The PSC will be responsible for coordinating perioperative services appointments. The position requires the ability to interact with patients, their families, physicians and other healthcare team members within the unit.

Required Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • At least one year of general office experience, preferably in a medical/clinical setting
  • Good written and verbal communication, organizational and customer service skills
  • Ability to multitask effectively, uses discretion and good judgment, and maintains patient confidentiality
  • Must be able to independently and professionally interact with customers, internal and external to the Hospitals
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, ability to learn and utilize applicable software

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate Business courses preferred
  • Medical terminology preferred

Position Details

  • Job Type/FTE: Part Time (0.7 FTE)
  • Shift: Days (7AM-330PM); 4 days/wk then 3 day/wk rotation with rotating weekends
  • Unit: 8E Neurology- Hyde Park
  • CBA Code: 743 Union

Compensation & Benefits Overview

 

UChicago Medicine is committed to transparency in compensation and benefits.  The pay range provided reflects the anticipated wage or salary reasonably expected to be offered for the position.

 

The pay range is based on a full-time equivalent (1.0 FTE) and is reflective of current market data, reviewed on an annual basis. Compensation offered at the time of hire will vary based on candidate qualifications and experience and organizational considerations, such as internal equity. Pay ranges for employees subject to Collective Bargaining Agreements are negotiated by the medical center and their respective union.
