About this role

Overview

As a Breakfast Cook/Buffet Attendant, you will ensure an exceptional dining experience by preparing and cooking quality dishes, maintaining fresh and well-presented buffet items, and keeping kitchen and dining areas clean. You will monitor ingredient quality, manage stock levels efficiently, provide attentive guest service, and support overall dining operations as needed.


Responsibilities

Breakfast Cook/Buffet Attendant responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Greet guests warmly and provide excellent customer service
  • Address guest inquiries, provide assistance, and promptly handle any issues or special requests related to breakfast service
  • Set up the buffet area before service, and keep food and beverages fresh and replenished for guests during service
  • Maintain the cleanliness of the dining area during service, including clearing tables and cleaning spills promptly
  • Assist in cleaning and resetting the buffet area at the end of service, including proper storage of leftover food and cleaning of serving equipment
  • Set up workstations with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment
  • Prepare ingredients to use in cooking (chopping and peeling vegetables, cutting meat etc.)
  • Cook food in various utensils or grillers
  • Check food while cooking to stir or turn
  • Ensure great presentation by dressing dishes before they are served
  • Keep a sanitized and orderly environment in the kitchen
  • Ensure all food and other items are stored properly
  • Check quality of ingredients
  • Monitor stock and stock products when there are shortages
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality business, team members may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the resort, including weekends and holidays
  • Weekend availability required
  • Prior kitchen/line cook experience required
  • Passion for providing exceptional service to guests and team members
  • Proven job reliability, diligence, dedication, and attention to detail
  • Teamwork and collaboration
  • Must be able to communicate clearly and professionally with guests, coworkers and supervisors
