Job Title: Off-Duty Police Officer, T-Mobile Park Events

Department: Security

Reports To: Law Enforcement Liaison

Status: Part Time Event Staff

Directly Supervises: N/A

 

Primary Objective:

Off-duty sworn law enforcement officers from the Seattle Police Department (SPD) and King County Sheriff's Office (KCSO) provide professional law enforcement services in support of the Seattle Mariners at team facilities and events. The role is responsible for providing a safe environment for events, visitors, and employees through monitoring the environment to detect potential hazards, notify appropriate personnel, and take corrective action as appropriate.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Provide visible, standby law-enforcement presence to deter crime, de-escalate situations, and enhance public safety
  • Enforce applicable laws and venue policies within assigned areas
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and emergencies; coordinate with on-duty security and law enforcement
  • Assist with crowd management, access control, and protection of players, staff, and guests
  • Prepare concise incident reports as required
  • Notify Security leadership when action is taken
  • Provide friendly assistance to the public and employees according to established procedures 
  • All other duties as assigned

 

Education and Experience:

  • Currently sworn, certified, and in good standing with Seattle Police Department, King County Sheriff’s Office and other police agencies with police officer powers in King County, Washington
  • Authorized for off-duty employment/secondary shifts as a police officer; compliant with department policies and procedures
  • Professional demeanor, strong communication skills, and sound judgment

Physical Activities and Working Conditions:

  • Event-based assignments including games, special events, and team activities
  • Uniformed duty; equipment per department and Mariners requirements
  • Indoor and outdoor work environment, subject to fluctuation in temperatures, exposure to the sun and elements. 
  • Medium lifting (20-50lb) may be required on occasion. 
  • Must be able to climb stairs and walk 4 or more miles during each event. 
  • Must be able to access assigned locations in T-Mobile Park including navigating concrete stairwells, ramps and concourses.

 The anticipated pay for this seasonal role is $82-$86 per hour.
