Youth Support Worker (Casual)

About the Role

We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Youth Support Worker to provide practical and emotional support to young people experiencing homelessness and crisis. Working within a 24-hour supported accommodation setting, you will help create a safe, secure and welcoming environment while supporting young people to build stability, independence and positive futures.

You will work collaboratively with a dedicated team and external services to deliver high-quality, client-centred support and achieve meaningful outcomes for young people.

How you will make an impact

In this role, you will:

  • Build positive, respectful and trusting relationships with young people, ensuring dignity, confidentiality and cultural sensitivity at all times
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to deliver effective programs and services
  • Plan, deliver and evaluate life-skills programs and other development activities
  • Provide information, advocacy and referrals to community, non-government and statutory services
  • Support young people to strengthen or re-establish family and social connections
  • Provide safe transport for clients using a TSA-leased vehicle
  • Identify and escalate critical incidents to the Team Leader as required
  • Deliver direct client support within a case management framework

What you will bring

  • A qualification in Social Work, Youth Work, Community Services or a related field
  • Experience supporting young people who are homeless and/or in crisis using a case management approach
  • Experience working with young people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds
  • Current driver’s licence
  • Valid Working with Children Check
