Part- Time 25 Hours Per Week, Monday- Friday, Pay Rate: $15.00 Per Hour

Summary/Primary Purpose:   Ensure pantry shelves are stocked, sorted, cleaned, and to drive our truck/van for collection of donations for Pantry, Thrift Store, or other Corps programs.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Inventory food from the Food Bank and other pantry donations accordingly.
  • Ensure pantry shelves are organized.
  • Attend meetings as required.
  • Drive truck/van to pick up donations as scheduled.
  • Distribute donations to proper departments as required.
  • Oversee loading/unloading of truck, ensuring the safety of personnel and volunteers.
  • Interact with donors in a positive and friendly manner.
  • Utilize forklift as directed or needed.
  • Driving is an essential function of the position.
  • All other duties as assigned.

 

Supervisory Responsibilities: none

 

Education and/or Experience: High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED).

 

Qualifications:  The requirements listed below are representative of the minimal knowledge, skill, and/or ability required for this position.

  • Ability to be flexible and able to work on multiple projects or tasks simultaneously
  • Ability to utilize forklift and pallet jack.
  • Basic computer skills with ability to access payroll, timekeeping, and personal data via a web-based system.
  • Attention to detail and creative problem-solving skills.
  • Strong independent judgement.

Other Qualifications: Must pass all applicable background checks. Must possess a valid driver's license from the state in which you reside. Must be approved through The Salvation Army Fleet Safety Program to drive either a Salvation Army or personal vehicle on Salvation Army business.

 

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Must successfully complete Safe from Harm training within 90 days of hire, as established by The Salvation Army. Driver’s License, Valid DOT, and Forklift Certification Training will be provided.

 

Physical Requirements: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Must be able to use hands to finger, handle or feel and reach with hands and arms. May need to climb or balance or stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Need to be able to talk or hear.  Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds.

 

Working Conditions: The work environment is in vehicles and areas with near moving mechanical parts and loud noise. The environmental conditions include exposure to fumes or airborne particles, outdoor weather conditions, risk of electrical shock and vibration.
