THIS IS A TEMPORARY FULL-TIME SUMMER DAY CAMP POSITION

May 27th, 2026 through July 24th, 2026

Pay Rate: $70 Per Day

SUMMARY:  Setup and cleanup of dining area and related spaces, and serving meals.  Operate the dishwasher, keep the dish room clean, and assist with food service and dining room tasks. Involvement in camp programming will be added when the workday is short.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other similar and related duties may be assigned. 

 

  • Responsible for setup before each meal, serving during meals, cleanup after meals and at day’s end.
  • Work in the snack shack as assigned.
  • Assist Head Cook with food delivery, storage and organization.
  • Assist in deeper cleaning of Dining Room and related areas between camps
  • Help maintain accurate meal records for each camp.
  • Help update inventory of all camp-owned serving supplies and equipment at end of camping season
  • Clean cookware and utensils before each meal, serve during meals, wash dishes and cleanup after meals, empty and clean trash cans and clean dish room at day’s end.
  • Maintain dining hall/kitchen floors.
  • Assist with setup and tear down of dining room.
  • Maintain grounds around dining hall.
  • Clean/Stock Dining Hall Bathrooms twice daily.
  • Assist Kitchen Staff with meal preparation as requested.
  • Participate in the total camp program when appropriate and as long as primary duties are not neglected
  • Participate in all staff meetings and devotions.

 

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:  This position has no supervisory responsibilities

 

QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  The requirements listed are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. They will assist in creating a Christian atmosphere and support the infusion of Christian Outreach through the programming.  Preferred 6 months related experience in a personal relationship with Christ and working with youth.  This individual must be of good character, mature and able to uphold the Christian standards and ministries of The Salvation Army in all areas of job responsibilities.

 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:  BFOQ- Must be at least 16 years old.   Will provide on-the- job-training.

 

COMPUTER SKILLS: None required.

 

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:  None required.

 

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:  Must pass all applicable background checks.
