About this role

Keep our systems running smoothly and help colleagues across the council thrive.

As an HR Organisation Structure Officer, you’ll play a key role behind the scenes—making sure our records are accurate, up to date and easy to work with. It’s detailed work that helps everything else run smoothly, from payroll and onboarding to wider service planning.

Working Style:

You’ll be based in the Borough for three days a week, playing a key role in serving the local community. Whether you’re working on the frontline or behind the scenes, you’ll be part of a dedicated team making a real difference to residents’ lives.

What you’ll be doing:

Your focus will be managing changes to our HR organisation structure in Oracle—making sure we record new starters, contract changes and leavers accurately and on time. You’ll monitor expiring contracts, support onboarding and help colleagues across HR and the wider council keep their information in great shape.

You’ll be the go-to person for queries from the HR Helpdesk, offering clear, timely advice on organisation structure changes. That includes coaching managers through updates to things like cost centres, locations and working hours, and spotting any issues before they cause confusion down the line.

You’ll also play a part in Oracle system updates—supporting testing and helping us make sure that any changes go smoothly. Your daily checks will help us pick up any gaps or inconsistencies in staff records, and you’ll work with other teams to get things back on track before a new colleague joins. It’s a mix of systems work, service advice and coordination that really matters to the teams you support.

For further details, please review the Job Description and Person Specification.

What you’ll bring

You understand how people data, structure data and payroll data all fit together in a single HR system, and how easy it is for small issues to cause bigger problems down the line. That’s why you care about getting things right—and know how to spot, track and resolve anomalies with a sharp eye for detail.

You’re a confident communicator who can explain technical information clearly, whether that’s in writing or over the phone. You work well under pressure, meet your deadlines and know how to prioritise when there’s a lot going on.

You’ll also have previous HR experience, solid Excel skills and be comfortable working as part of a close-knit, collaborative team. If you’ve worked within an HR Helpdesk or supported HR system testing on Oracle before, that’s a bonus—but above all, we’re looking for someone who’s calm, reliable and ready to learn.

Why join us

At RBKC, we’re all in – investing in our people, our communities and our future. This is a great opportunity to build your understanding of how the council works from the inside out. You’ll get to work with a wide range of teams, support the delivery of our Oracle system and be part of a welcoming, collaborative HR service.

There’s lots of variety and plenty of opportunities to develop, especially if you enjoy learning how systems work and making improvements. The work can be fast-paced at times, but you’ll always have the support of a team that values accuracy, initiative and a good sense of humour.
