Reports to: Public Facilities Manager

Program: 1005-Village

Department: Participant Resources

Location: The Village - 527 Crocker Street, Los Angeles, CA 90013

Setting: 100% Onsite

Schedule: Tuesday - Saturday, 3:00pm - 11:30pm

Status: Full-time/Non-Exempt/Non-Management

Job Description Summary:

The PTS Attendant I is responsible for the day-to-day cleaning and maintenance of The People Concern assigned facilities. This position will ensure that The People Concern operates clean, safe, and well-maintained facilities that meet the needs of the people that work and live in them.

 

Job Description Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for general cleaning of the facilities which includes sweeping and mopping floors, vacuuming and stocking restrooms, emptying trash, etc.
  • Ensure that restrooms, toilet and sinks, counters, and fixtures are clean and functioning at all times.
  • Maintains a clean environment by mopping up excess water, picking up trash in restroom, wiping counters, removing trash etc.
  • Provide polite and professional customer service and assistance to the public
  • Assist with the completion of minor repairs, including interior and exterior facility grounds, buildings and equipment.
  • Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and inform supervisor when low in stock.
  • Notify supervisor of major repairs and safety concerns.
  • Assist with set-up and clean-up of major events and with the pick-up, loading, and unloading of supplies and donations.
  • Assist with moving furniture, boxes, donations, supplies and other heavy items.
  • Responsible for mixing and using various cleaning solutions.
  • Notify supervisor any inventory needs or supplies needed for the program.

 

Job Description Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum three years’ experience as a hands-on Facilities Maintenance worker in a commercial building
  • Effective interpersonal communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community
  • Self-starter with the ability to stay ahead of the curve and thrive in a fast-paced work environment
  • Working knowledge of workplace safety and illness and injury prevention practices
  • Able to maintain a pleasant attitude and a customer-service orientation at all times

Job Description Work Environment:

  • Primarily indoor office environment
  • On occasion drive to different sites
  • Regularly required to sit, stand, bend and occasionally lift or carry up to 50 pounds
  • May necessitate working in busy and loud environments
  • May be exposed to elements like cold, heat, dust, noise, and odor
  • May need to bend, stoop, twist, and sit throughout the day
