Scope of Position:

Responsible for the engineering, build, installation / configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and software and related infrastructure running in the Window Server environment in the Department of Radiation Oncology.  Responsible for Windows Server operating systems and Linux Server OS, and server-based hardware administration for the Department of Radiation Oncology. This also includes provisioning, monitoring, tuning, capacity planning, security, troubleshooting, support and maintenance. Responsible for the evaluation, development and implementation of operating system enhancements to improve the reliability, scalability, sustainability, and availability of the server environment. Performs complex hardware and software installations and upgrades to server operating systems, hardware upgrades, and software update packages. Plan and schedule installations and upgrades and maintain them in accordance with established IT policies and procedures. Monitor and tune server operating systems to achieve optimum performance levels. Ensure recoverability by implementing and monitoring a schedule of system backups. Responsible for server systems projects that range from medium to large in scope, risk and impact. Leads and facilitates strategic projects involved in evaluating and researching new and existing products, procedures and/or workflows needs associated with Window Server operating systems for the Department of Radiation Oncology. Researches current and developing technologies to provide technical guidance pertaining to the capabilities, limitations and requirements of Window Server systems.   

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. Advanced degree in relevant field may be desirable. 4 years of relevant experience required. 4-8 years of relevant experience preferred.
