Research Senior Technician

The Department of Biomedical Engineering is seeking a Research Technician to work under the direct supervision of Dr. Agudelo Garcia on aging reprograming projects to assist with setup, maintenance, and operation in a laboratory located in the Department of Biomedical Engineering in Fontana labs; will be trained to support on-going research experiments; manages and maintains laboratory equipment, maintaining stock reagents and solutions; orders supplies and equipment, consolidate the analysis of research results; evaluates the validity of data obtained from experimental procedures; summarizes data for inclusion in grant proposals and manuscripts; prepares research progress reports; prepares publications, manuscripts, articles, posters, and abstracts; assists in supporting other laboratory members and students; performs administrative tasks including coordinating lab safety inspections; maintains laboratory website and manages laboratory communications on social media. Performs additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required: Bachelor's degree (in Biological Science, Chemistry, Biomedical Engineering, or equivalent) or an equivalent combination of education or experience required. 4 years of relevant experience (in Biological Science, Chemistry, Biomedical Engineering, or equivalent) required with High School diploma or GED, 2 years of relevant experience (in Biological Science, Chemistry, Biomedical Engineering, or equivalent) required with Associate's Degree, or 0 years of relevant experience required with Bachelor's Degree. Ability to translate, adapt, and apply academic or practical knowledge to research required. Ability to work with other researchers and communicate clearly in a group setting.

Desired: At least 1 year of experience in general biology, cell biology, microscopy, and molecular biology (experience can include undergraduate research).

Additional Information:

The target hiring range for this job profile is $19.28 - $25.19 per hour, paid biweekly. The actual salary paid to an individual will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limit to, education, years of experience, internal equity, etc.
