The property offers 73 guest rooms and 12 single-level penthouse residences, all with sweeping views of Idaho’s Rocky Mountains. Guests and owners will enjoy an elevated level of personalized service and an extensive amenity suite, including a 5,700-square-foot full-service spa, a 1,500-square-foot fitness center, six treatment rooms, an indoor thermal pool, cold plunge, sauna, and steam rooms. A state-of-the-art rooftop observatory and outdoor terrace bar will provide unobstructed access to the Central Idaho Dark Sky Reserve, the first designated preserve of its kind in the U.S. and one of only 12 globally.

Overview

The Group Sales Manager is responsible for initiating, soliciting, and negotiating contracts for hotel business, with a key focus on group, entertainment & production, and corporate markets. 

Responsibilities

  • Participate in sales calls, telephone prospecting, and market analyses to identify and acquire new/additional business. 
  • Develop relationships within the local community and surrounding areas to strengthen and expand a solid client base.
  • Build and strengthen relationships with new and existing clients through activities that include, however are not limited to, sales calls, entertainment, FAM trips, tradeshows, and trade association meetings.
  • Conduct on-site tours and site inspections with prospective clients and future incoming guests.
  • Negotiate and finalize contracts with prospective clients.
  • Complete weekly sales call reports.
  • Grasp a complete understanding of the local market, strengths and weaknesses of key market competitors, and current market trends to maximize and leverage sales opportunities for the hotel.
  • Support the Company's service and relationship strategy, driving guest loyalty by delivering remarkable service throughout each client experience.
  • Works collaboratively with Director of Revenue Management to drive occupancy and ADR.
  • Actively participate in regular Sales Strategy and Sales Department meetings. 
  • Schedule and/or attend sales trips, trade shows and appointments within assigned markets, including, however not limited to, evening and weekend events and functions.  
  • Provides additional assistance to Sales/Marketing team as directed

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated ability to work with maximum accuracy, efficiency and attention to detail, maintaining a keen sense of urgency at all times. 
  • Demonstrated understanding of the market, along with competitors’ strengths and weaknesses, economic trends, supply and demand; aptitude for knowing how to position the hotel against its Competitive Set. 
  • Must be self-directed, motivated and demonstrate exceptional service, interpersonal, and analytical skills.
  • Outstanding ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and openly in all interactions, both verbal and written.
  • Keen negotiation, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to exercise sound logic and judgment in evaluating situations and utilizing appropriate resources.
  • Exceptional organizational abilities and natural skill for multi-tasking and prioritizing in a fast-paced work environment. 
  • Must be able to show initiative in job performance, including anticipating what needs to be done before it becomes a necessity.
  • Technologically savvy, possessing a strong knowledge of all Microsoft Office software
  • Maintains flexible schedule to meet the business needs of a 24/7 hotel environment, including weekends, evenings and holidays.
  • Previous experience in similar market required
  • Ability to travel
