If this sounds like the choice you want to make, then choose MITRE - and make a difference with us.<p></p><h3></h3><div>Job Description</div><div><div><div><div><p>The MITRE Space Intelligence Systems Department is looking for a Network Engineering Subject Matter Expert (SME) who wants to drive innovative solutions, thought leadership, and evidence-based recommendations so the Intelligence Community (IC) can deliver the benefits and services our Mission Partners depend on to make a positive impact in the world.</p><p></p><p><b>Roles & Responsibilities:</b></p><ul><li>MITRE’s Space Intelligence Systems is looking for a Principal Network Engineer role that will be supporting multiple classified infrastructures as well as standalone environments. </li><li>This role will require knowledge of implementing and maintaining NIST 800-53 Security Controls / RMF compliance in each environment along with additional security lockdowns if required and ensure the accreditation is enforced and in compliance in all environments. </li><li>Provide technical evaluations for hardware/software acquisitions and architecture</li><li>Work with various sponsor organizations, FFRDCs, and contractors to ensure long-term network architecture meets projected needs</li><li>The successful candidate will, in addition to providing top level technical support and vision, provide subject matter expertise across several government offices<br /> </li></ul><p><b>Basic Qualifications:</b></p><ul><li> 8+ years of related experience with a bachelor’s degree; or 6 years and a master’s degree; or a PhD with 3 years’ experience; or equivalent combination of related education and work experience.</li><li>Active TS/SCI with CI Poly</li><li>Experience integrating emerging cybersecurity capabilities, hardware and software, into large network architectures</li><li>Experience working with multiple government agencies, FFRDCs, and contractors</li><li>Experience with STIGs and system hardening through Group Policy and/or automation</li><li>Familiarity with scripting and automation tools, including batch scripts, PowerShell, automation with PDQ Inventory/Deploy, Ansible, Chef, or other similar tools</li><li>Familiarity with architecting diverse services of environments</li><li>Ability to develop effective technical and support documentation to include design & test plans, implementation plans, and automation plans using standard templates (where existing) or proposing & creating new templates where needed</li><li>Ability to review operational metrics and make analytic <span>decisions/recommendations</span> about operational infrastructure performance</li><li>Ability to deploy all hardware/software configurations following established standards in an automated and auditable method.</li><li>Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills</li><li>Strong written and verbal communications skills</li><li>This position has an on-site requirement of 5 days a week on-site.</li></ul><p></p><p><b>Preferred Qualifications: </b></p><ul><li>12+ years of experience in Network Engineering</li></ul></div></div></div></div><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:left"><b>This requisition requires the candidate to have a minimum of the following clearance(s):</b></p>Polygraph<p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:left"><b>This requisition requires the hired candidate to have or obtain, within one year from the date of hire, the following clearance(s):</b></p>Polygraph<p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:left"><b>Salary compensation range and midpoint:</b></p>$147,200 - $184,000 - $220,800 Annual<p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:left"><b>Work Location Type:</b></p>Onsite<p></p><p><b>Commitment to Non-Discrimination</b></p><p>All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to disability, status as a protected veteran or any other status protected by applicable federal, state, local or international law.</p><p></p><p>MITRE intends to maintain a website that is fully accessible to all individuals.
