About this role

Lynden Air Cargo is a US part 121 all-cargo airline based in Anchorage, Alaska. We conduct operations within Alaska as around the world, utilizing our fleet of L382 Hercules aircraft. Our structure provides you with the family environment of a smaller company, and the competitiveness, expectations and rewards of a large, global organization.

Lynden Air Cargo is looking for an experienced, detail-oriented Loadmaster who will ensure that Lynden Air Cargo's fleet of L382G Hercules are loaded safely and efficiently, taking into account various factors such as but not limited to weight distribution, balance, and compliance safety regulations while facilitating smooth operations across the board. Additionally, the Loadmaster properly maintains the records of cargo manifests and other relevant flight operations documentation in accordance with governmental policies under the Federal Aviation Administration. This position is located on-site in Anchorage, AK.

The essential duties and responsibilities of this position are:

  • Performs all assigned work in accordance with established policies and procedures as governed by Lynden Air Cargo’s Employee Handbook, LAC Loadmaster Manual, and applicable CFRs.
  • Responsible for preparation of aircraft for loading and unloading of freight. 
  • Determines proper weight and balance of the aircraft and loads the aircraft within limits for safe flight.
  • Coordinates the loading and unloading activities with ground personnel.
  • Directs all loading and off-loading of routine loads for scheduled service.
  • Must be able to work in a constant state of alertness and a safe manner.

Qualifications:

  • Education/Experience High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required; or one to three months related experience and/or training.
  • Comprehension: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence and speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of an organization.
  • Mathematical skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to interpret bar graphs.
  • Reasoning ability: Applying common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.  Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Availability: Must be available to work days, evenings, weekends, nights or holidays and to be away from home for extended periods of time (up to a total of 6 out of 12 months a year). Must be available to travel to domestic and international locations without restrictions, including entrance onto foreign military bases.
  • Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Must hold a current US Driver's License and US Passport.
  • Other Skills and abilities: Upon completion of training, one must demonstrate ability, knowledge, and skill to qualify for the Loadmaster II Certificate of Qualification for Loadmaster. Use of a personal mobile device for essential work tasks such as multi-factor authentication (MFA), accessing Dayforce, and receiving time-sensitive communications.

A post-conditional offer of employment drug test and background investigation is required. Applicants must be able to pass a DOT physical and obtain a medical card to operate a commercial vehicle over 10,000 pounds, as well as hold a Secure Identification Display Access badge and submit to RapBack verification.

Random drug testing is required of all Lynden Air Cargo employees.
