Position Summary:
The RP Trainer/Coach will provide trauma-informed training and consulting services to staff at Red Clay Public Schools (“district”) in order to meet the requirements of the district’s STOP School Violence Grant. The multi-year grant, funded by the U.S. Department of Justice, provides funding to improve efforts to reduce crime in two High Schools and their respective communities.
The position requires a strong, multi-tasking, leader with an overarching commitment to public service and to the mission of the agency. Experience working in mental health and/or behavioral health coaching or teaching is required. Experience working with school districts, providing training, and navigating client relationships is preferred. The successful candidate must be relationship-oriented, organized, intuitive, flexible, and goal-oriented.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Coordination & Collaboration:
• Support/Coach a school-based team in implementing Restorative Practices Initiative
• Develop and maintain relationships with district and school teams to deliver high-engagement academic and social/emotional program.
• Collaborate with district personnel to schedule programs and meet grant deliverables.
• Develop and deliver training content on restorative practices.
• Monitor training effectiveness and make necessary adjustments for improvement.
• Seek approvals for contracts and expenditures requiring board approval.
Data collection & Tracking:
• Collaborate with evaluators to track all student-level and program activities, ensuring compliance with grant guidelines.
• Maintain accurate documentation of service objectives, outcomes and deliverables.
• Regularly review evaluation data with schools and recommend program improvements.
• Utilize data collection systems to measure and report outcomes to external evaluators and funding agencies.
Meetings & Reporting:
• Attend required meetings, trainings and conferences related to STOP School Violence Grants.
• Provide timely reporting to district leadership and external evaluators.
• Support in gathering and developing APRs.
Skills and Knowledge:
• Demonstrated ability in planning, organization, and decision-making
• Working in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality of work
• Working independently, as well as in a team environment
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including delivering presentations to diverse groups
• Working well with organizations, staff, students, and volunteers
• Strong leadership, relationship and team building skills.
Education and Experience:
Required:
• Master’s Degree preferred in Education, Counseling, Social Work, or related discipline
• At least 5 years of experience in education or mental health profession
• At least 2 years of experience of coaching school-based teams
Preferred:
• Knowledge of restorative practices, social-emotional learning, mental health, and trauma-informed care practices
• Demonstrated experience collaborating with community organizations and the business community to build partnerships
• Experience delivering training programs including course development
