Position Summary
The Assistant Toddler Teacher supports the Lead Teacher in creating a warm, structured, and developmentally appropriate classroom for toddlers. This role is ideal for a caring, dependable educator who enjoys working with young children and is eager to grow professionally in early childhood education.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (required)
- Coursework in Early Childhood Education, CDA (in progress or completed), or prior toddler classroom experience (preferred)
- Experience working with toddlers or young children at least 2 years
- Ability to meet state licensing and TLE requirements
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Lead Teacher in implementing daily lesson plans and classroom activities
- Help maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment
- Assist with daily routines including diapering, potty training, meals, nap time, and transitions
- Actively engage with children through play, conversation, and positive guidance
- Observe children’s behavior and development and share insights with the Lead Teacher
- Follow all health, safety, and licensing regulations
- Communicate respectfully and professionally with families and team members
- Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and professional development opportunities
