Role Overview
Reporting to the Production Manager, the Packager ensures coffee is bagged quickly and accurately in a manner consistent with Ethical Bean’s HACCP program and packaging policies and guidelines. The Packager must understand and follow all company Health and Safety guidelines. In the absence of the Production Manager, the Packager will report to and follow the direction of the Roaster on shift.
Schedule:
Monday - Friday (Needs to be open to work on Saturday for OT)
Hours:
6am to 2:30pm
The starting hourly wage for this role is $19.27 /hr
Responsibilities:
• Weigh/bag/ grind/seal coffee quickly and accurately
• Maintain accurate scale cleaning and production logs
• Correctly fill and label boxes of finished product
• Ensure that finished product is placed into proper rotation
• Operate all packaging equipment as needed to fulfill duties
• Maintain the prescribed production pace.
• Maintain the work area in a clean and orderly condition
• Operate pallet jacks/hand trucks/carts safely and effectively
• Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
• Basic math skills and some basic computer skills
• Communicate and understand spoken and written instructions in English
• Ability to stand for entire shift
• Perform repetitive tasks consistently and quickly
• Ability to lift 10kg box, move 50kg tote
• Work well as part of a team

What you'll do
- The Packager is responsible for weighing, bagging, grinding, and sealing coffee quickly and accurately while maintaining production logs. They must also ensure proper rotation of finished products and operate packaging equipment safely.
